Tarik Alami is the Director of Emerging and Conflict Related Issues Division at the United-Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia based in Lebanon.

He has been the Director of the Economic development and Globalization Division at ESCWA. He was a professor at the American University of Beirut.

He has published several articles  on economics.

He graduated with a B.A in Economics from Bir Zeit University, M.A from George Mason University in Virgina, USA and a PhD in Monetary Economics from the American University in Washington DC, USA.
