BASMA ABDUL KHALEK Senior Economist & Program Manager
Biography

Basma Abdul Khalek has been working as Program Manager at the Cooperation and Partnerships department at the Institut since 2012. She contributes to the development of the Institute's mission and role through developing and sustaining cooperation  initiatives with local, regional and international partners.

Since 2018, she has been member of the Institut technical task force working on public procurement reform in Lebanon, involved in policy research & dialogue, stakeholders’ capacity building, and fostering cooperation with international development partners. She coordinated the implementation of the internationally recognized MAPS assessment of the procurement system in Lebanon. She is responsible for reporting on the implementation of the National Strategy on Public Procurement Reform, and actively contributes to research and publications around procurement reform.

Basma completed masters' studies in International Cooperation and Foreign Policy at SciencesPo - Université Saint Joseph in Beirut. She holds a master's degree in Public Governance in the Euro-Arab Region from the Universidad de Granada in Spain, and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut. 

She is a Certified Anti-Corruption Fellow from the American Anti-Corruption Institute (AACI).
