Since September 2019, the UNICEF and the IOF have been collaborating to enhance budget literacy in Lebanon and improve budget transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness. Their commitment focuses on boosting citizen engagement by addressing both the public and government sides.

Their joint efforts have produced several key tools and reports, including the Citizen Budget, the Lebanon Citizen Budget Dashboard, and the first Budget Review of the Government Financing of Social Protection. 

These initiatives have achieved the following:
1- Enhanced Public Access to Fiscal Information: By making fiscal data more accessible, citizens are better equipped to engage with their government and hold it accountable based on informed understanding.
2- Promoted Evidence-Based Policy Research: Their work supports data-driven policy research and informs more effective budgetary decisions.
