Chief Economist for the MENA region and Pakistan at Jefferies, Alia Moubayed has over 30 years of experience in public policy, international finance, and think tanks.

She has held various positions at the World Bank and Barclays, and led the Geoeconomics Program at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. In Lebanon, she served in several senior economic roles, including at the Central Bank of Lebanon and the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR).

She is also the founder of AWEAMENA, an association that promotes the role of women economists in the Middle East and North Africa.

She holds an MBA from the American University of Beirut and a master’s degree from the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in France.
