Majed ElBayya is a Practice Manager – Procurement MENA at The World Bank. He has worked extensively on country public procurement reviews, country public procurement reforms, fiduciary review and led/participated in several studies and research on public procurement. He has provided many capacity building trainings on World Bank procurement procedures and contract management. He also worked as Global Lead Procurement Specialist working in the EFI Governance Global Practice, Sr. Operation Officer and Sr. Procurement Specialist in several countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Europe and Central Asia and South Asia region.
Before joining the World Bank in 1997, Dr. ElBayya was Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Housing in Palestine, worked with a local consulting firm and an adjunct assistant professor at a university in Gaza.
He obtained his PhD and Master’s degrees in civil engineering— Hydraulics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, MO, USA and his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine.
