Description
In Lebanon, public procurement presents theoretically a great potential to advance social change and promote gender equality. However, requirements favoring gender equality in public contracts are not well known. Obstacles and difficulties have not been sufficiently analyzed. Resistance may be due to deficient knowledge of the benefits that gender procurement may generate but also weak technical knowledge on how to introduce related measures. This report provides a Gender Analysis of the Public Procurement Law in Lebanon 244/2021.
It is commissioned by UN Women.
