Major General Edgar Lawandos is the Director-General of Lebanon’s State Security Directorate. 

A senior officer in the Lebanese Armed Forces, he previously served as Commander of the South Litani Sector, where he worked closely with UNIFIL and was involved in security and coordination efforts in southern Lebanon. 

Appointed Director-General of State Security in March 2025, Major General Lawandos has since emphasized coordination among Lebanon’s security institutions, the strict application of the law, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of national security and stability.
