Since May 2025, Mira Bierbaum has served as the Programme Manager and Social Protection Specialist in Lebanon, based in the International Labour Organizations's Regional Office for Arab States. 

Prior to that, Mira led UNICEF Sri Lanka’s Social Policy Section from 2022 to 2025, and worked in the Social Policy Unit of the International Labour Organization's Social Protection Department. She has also served as a consultant for various international organizations, including UN Women and the World Bank.

Mira holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Human Development from the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (MGSoG)/United Nations University (UNU), with a specialization in Social Policy Design and Financing (MSc), as well as a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University.
